
UAI Jakarta (LP3M – 18/07/2024). The Institute for Educational Development and Quality Assurance (LP3M) of Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma (UNSURYA) conducted a comparative study visit to the Quality Assurance Agency (BPM) of Al Azhar Indonesia University (UAI) as part of preparations for university accreditation.

The LP3M UNSURYA delegation, led by Dr. Khaerudin, M.M., was warmly welcomed by the Quality Assurance Agency (BPM) team of Al Azhar Indonesia University (UAI). The purpose of the visit was to study the accreditation systems and procedures implemented by BPM UAI, identify best practices in quality and accreditation management, and establish collaboration and networking between UNSURYA and UAI in an effort to enhance the quality of education.
In her welcoming remarks, Dr. Hanny Nurlatifah, S.Pi., M.M., Head of BPM UAI, expressed her appreciation for the visit and emphasized the importance of collaboration among higher education institutions to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. The event continued with an introduction session and a brief presentation on the profile of Al Azhar Indonesia University. Afterwards, the Head of LP3M UNSURYA explained the purpose of the comparative study visit, which was to learn from, observe, and gain insights into UAI’s preparation and implementation of institutional accreditation.
The LP3M UNSURYA team held discussions with the BPM UAI team on various aspects of accreditation, including document preparation, quality improvement strategies, and innovations in teaching and learning. Additionally, the LP3M UNSURYA team observed how BPM UAI manages quality assurance at both the program and institutional levels, exchanged information with the accreditation team of BPM UAI regarding the accreditation preparation and submission process, including the preparation of self-evaluation reports (borang) and supporting documentation.

The Head of BPM UAI provided an overview of the internal and external audit systems implemented, discussed strategies for improving accreditation, and shared experiences related to the challenges encountered during the accreditation process.
Several key insights gained from the comparative study at BPM Al Azhar Indonesia University included an integrated quality management system, the effective use of technology, the involvement of all university components, and the development of human resource capacity.
Based on the outcomes of the visit, LP3M UNSURYA formulated several recommendations for implementation at the university. These included developing an integrated quality management system, optimizing information technology, strengthening a culture of quality, and conducting training and development for human resources.
Dr. Khaerudin, M.M., expressed his gratitude to the Quality Assurance Agency of Al Azhar Indonesia University for their warm welcome and hospitality during the visit. The Head of LP3M UNSURYA also conveyed hope that the insights gained from this comparative study would support UNSURYA in preparing for a more robust and mature accreditation process.
The visit concluded with a group photo session with the BPM UAI team and the Vice Rector I, as well as the presentation of a souvenir from LP3M UNSURYA to BPM UAI as a token of appreciation and a symbol of the ongoing commitment to building a strong and collaborative partnership in the future.
