About Us
Marsekal Suryadarma Aerospace University (UNSURYA) was established in 1988 under the name Aerospace Technology College (STTD). In 1989, it changed its name to Aerospace Technology Institute (ITD), then in 1999 became Suryadarma University, and since 2016 has been known as Marsekal Suryadarma Aerospace University until the present day. Meanwhile, the Internal Audit Unit (SPI) of Marsekal Suryadarma Aerospace University was established and incorporated into the organizational structure of UNSURYA in 2016, coinciding with the university’s name change to Marsekal Suryadarma Aerospace University, in anticipation of UNSURYA’s increasingly large and complex development.
In accordance with the Adi Upaya Foundation (YASAU) Regulation concerning the Statute of Marsekal Suryadarma Aerospace University, Part Three, Paragraph 1, Article 44, the Internal Audit Unit (SPI) of UNSURYA is a university body that carries out non-academic supervisory functions for and on behalf of the Rector. The scope of non-academic supervision includes:
- Finance
- Assets, facilities, infrastructure, and logistics
- Human resources/personnel
- Governance and regulations
Structurally, the Internal Audit Unit (SPI) reports directly to and is accountable to the Rector. Although positioned under the Rector, in carrying out its professional duties, the SPI upholds the principles of independence, objectivity, integrity, professionalism/competence, confidentiality, and freedom from influence or pressure from any party, while strictly adhering to the UNSURYA SPI Auditor Code of Ethics. To become a respected, professional, and independent Internal Audit Unit that provides added value and enhances UNSURYA’s non-academic performance, while ensuring the realization of good university governance in achieving UNSURYA’s goals based on faith, independence, and intellectual excellence.
- Conduct internal supervision of management activities across all work units within UNSURYA, particularly in non-academic areas (finance, assets, and personnel).
- Become a strategic partner for university management in providing added value to the implementation of UNSURYA’s activities, especially in non-academic fields.
- Assist university leaders in obtaining objective and high-quality assessments of the implementation of activities in each non-academic work unit within UNSURYA.
- Encourage university leaders to improve the implementation of good university governance.
To ensure that governance at Marsekal Suryadarma Aerospace University operates effectively, efficiently, transparently, and in accordance with applicable regulations. This includes ensuring compliance, improving governance practices, overseeing financial management, encouraging performance improvement, and conducting audits and follow-up monitoring.
