Project-Based Learning (PjBL) at Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma (Unsurya) is an innovative learning approach that focuses on the application of academic concepts through real-world projects. This approach aims to enhance students’ practical skills, prepare them to face industry challenges, and strengthen collaboration with the business and industrial sectors (DUDI).
Implementation of PjBL at Unsurya
On July 30, 2024, the Faculty of Aerospace and Industrial Engineering (FTDI) at Unsurya held a workshop on the development of Semester Learning Plans (RPS) that incorporate project-based and case-based learning. The event was attended by 80 participants from among Unsurya’s faculty members and aimed to design a curriculum that is more practical and aligned with current industry developments.
During the workshop, Sudra Irawan, S.Pd., M.Sc., Head of the Informatics Engineering Department at Politeknik Negeri Batam, recommended that the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL) be carried out gradually. He suggested starting by designing project themes and Lesson Implementation Plans (RPP) for two selected courses, followed by curriculum adjustments to align with the requirements of project-based learning.
In addition, the development of a PBL system integrated with a website platform was proposed to facilitate coordination, project management, and communication between lecturers and students. This would ensure that the PBL implementation is more organized and easily accessible to all parties involved.
