DEVELOPING HUMAN RESOURCE CAPACITY OF INDONESIANS IN SLOVAKIA

The Master of Management Study Program at Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma organized a community service activity with the theme “Developing Human Resource Capacity of Indonesians in Slovakia.” The event was held online via Zoom Meeting and aimed to provide insights into enhancing individual competencies to better prepare for global challenges, particularly for Indonesians residing in Slovakia. This activity took place on November 30, 2024.

The event was officially opened by the Rector of Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma, Dr. Sungkono, S.E., M.Si., who, in his opening remarks, emphasized the importance of investing in human resource skill development to face international competition. He asserted that continuous education and training are essential to enhance the competitiveness of the Indonesian workforce abroad.

Following that, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Slovakia, Dr. Pribadi Sutiono, S.S., M.A., delivered his remarks, highlighting the various opportunities and challenges faced by Indonesian workers and professionals in Slovakia. He emphasized the importance of mental preparedness, cultural adaptation, and skills enhancement in order to succeed in the global job market. In addition, he encouraged participants to actively build relationships and leverage professional networks to expand career opportunities and enhance their personal capacity.

The next remarks were delivered by the Chairwoman of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan at the Indonesian Embassy in Bratislava, Mrs. Fenty Saraswaty. She shared her experiences regarding the role of Dharma Wanita in supporting the Indonesian community in Slovakia, as well as various efforts that have been made to empower Indonesian human resources abroad. In her address, she emphasized the important role of women in economic development and social welfare, and highlighted how the Indonesian community in Slovakia can support one another across various aspects of life.

During the presentation session, Dr. Yohanes Ferry Cahaya, S.E., M.M., as the first speaker, explained strategies for developing individual competencies to better compete in an international work environment. He also provided insights into the changing trends of the global job market and how workers can continuously upgrade their skills to remain relevant and competitive.

Meanwhile, Yulita, S.E., M.M., as the second speaker, discussed various aspects of careers and job opportunities for Indonesian professionals in Slovakia, as well as how to navigate the ever-evolving job market. In her presentation, she emphasized the importance of developing soft skills, such as communication and leadership abilities, which are key factors in achieving success in the international workplace.
The event received a positive response from participants, including students, academics, and members of the Indonesian community in Slovakia. The interactive discussion reflected a high level of interest from attendees in exploring strategies for enhancing personal capacity to become more competitive at the global level. Participants also had the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences in facing challenges in overseas work environments.
As a closing activity, the event ended with a networking session, which served as an opportunity for participants to build connections and exchange experiences. In addition, certificates were awarded to participants as a token of appreciation for their involvement. Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma also presented souvenirs to the speakers and the Indonesian Embassy in Bratislava as a sign of appreciation for their collaboration in supporting the development of Indonesian human resources abroad.
Through this activity, it is hoped that a broader professional network can be established and individual competencies improved, enabling Indonesian workers to be more prepared to compete in the global market. The Master of Management Study Program at Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma remains committed to supporting the development of excellent human resources who are ready to face the challenges of globalization. With initiatives like this, it is expected that more Indonesian professionals will be able to adapt and succeed in various industries at the international level.
