
Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma (Unsurya) sukses menyelenggarakan webinar internasional bertajuk “The Future of Air Law: Indonesian and International Perspectives on Air and Space Law” pada 6 April 2026. Acara ini menjadi wadah krusial untuk mendiskusikan tantangan serta arah regulasi kedirgantaraan di tengah pesatnya kemajuan teknologi.

Rektor Unsurya, Marsekal Muda (Purn) Dr. Sungkono, S.E., M.Si., dalam sambutannya menegaskan bahwa masa depan hukum udara tidak hanya berada di tangan praktisi dan pemerintah.
Webinar ini menghadirkan diskusi komprehensif dari tiga pakar lintas negara dan perspektif:
- Dr. Jinyoung Choi (IIASL Leiden University) Membedah wawasan global mengenai perlindungan hukum dan tanggung jawab pilot dalam kecelakaan pesawat udara ditinjau dari perspektif hukum internasional
- Ridha Aditya Nugraha, LL.M. (Universitas Prasetiya Mulya) Menjelaskan implementasi UU Nomor 21 Tahun 2025 tentang Pengelolaan Ruang Udara. Beliau menekankan bahwa regulasi ini adalah kunci untuk perlindungan hukum dan keamanan nasional yang komprehensif
- Dr. Supriabu, S.H., M.H. (Dosen Praktisi FH Unsurya) Mantan pilot pesawat sipil dan negara ini menyoroti tantangan Indonesia sebagai negara kepulauan. Fokus utamanya adalah benturan interpretasi antara Konvensi Chicago 1944 dan Hukum Laut 1982, khususnya terkait hak lintas penerbangan di atas Alur Laut Kepulauan Indonesia (ALKI) yang sering bersinggungan dengan keamanan nasional (seperti pada “Kasus Bawean”).
Dalam Closing Remakrs, Dekan Fakultas Hukum Unsurya, Marsekal Muda TNI (Purn). Dr. Sujono, S.H., M.H., CfrA. secara terbuka mengundang para peserta dan masyarakat luas untuk bergabung dan melanjutkan studi di Fakultas Hukum Unsurya. Kampus ini menawarkan visi keilmuan unik dengan karakteristik kedirgantaraan yang kuat dan spesifik.
Acara ini dihadiri oleh Mahasiswa/Mahasiswi Program Studi Strata Satu Ilmu Hukum dan Strata Dua Magister Hukum Unsurya yang juga sebagai praktisi, wirausaha, ataupun bekerja di sektor pemerintahan, dan sivitas akademika Luar Unsurya.

This prestigious forum served as a critical platform for deliberating upon the contemporary challenges and the regulatory trajectory of the aerospace sector amidst rapid technological advancements.
In his opening remarks, the Rector of Unsurya, Air Vice Marshal (Ret.) Dr. Sungkono, S.E., M.Si., asserted that the evolution of air law does not reside solely within the purview of practitioners and governmental bodies. He emphasized that the discipline’s future is inherently tied to the intellectual contributions of the academe and the robust application of legal principles.
The webinar facilitated a comprehensive discourse featuring three eminent experts representing diverse international and domestic perspectives:

Dr. Jinyoung Choi (International Institute of Air and Space Law, Leiden University) Dr. Choi provided a profound global analysis concerning the legal protection and professional liability of pilots in the event of aviation accidents, evaluated through the lens of international law.

Ridha Aditya Nugraha, LL.M. (Prasetiya Mulya University) Mr. Nugraha elucidated the implementation of Law Number 21 of 2025 regarding Airspace Management. He underscored that this legislation is paramount to ensuring comprehensive legal certainty and bolstering national security.

Dr. Supriabu, S.H., M.H. (Faculty of Law, Unsurya) As a legal academic and former civil and state aviator, Dr. Supriabu highlighted the unique challenges faced by Indonesia as an archipelagic state. His presentation focused on the interpretative conflicts between the 1944 Chicago Convention and the 1982 Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), specifically regarding overflight rights across the Indonesian Archipelagic Sea Lanes (ALKI) and their implications for national sovereignty, citing the “Bawean Case” as a significant precedent.
In his closing remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Air Vice Marshal (Ret.) Dr. Sujono, S.H., M.H., CfrA., formally extended an invitation to the participants and the broader public to pursue advanced legal studies at the Faculty of Law, Unsurya. He noted that the institution offers a distinctive academic vision characterized by a specialized and rigorous focus on aerospace jurisprudence.
The event was attended by students of the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Law Programs at Unsurya many of whom are active practitioners, entrepreneurs, and government officials—as well as members of the wider international academic community.
