
Jakarta, July 10, 2025 — The Faculty of Health Sciences at Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma (Unsurya) successfully held the Oath-Taking Ceremony for first-year students of the Diploma-III in Nursing Study Program for the 2024/2025 Academic Year. This solemn event took place on Thursday (10/07) at the Unsurya campus in Jakarta and served as a significant milestone in shaping the ethics and professionalism of future nursing professionals.

The ceremony began at 08:00 AM WIB with guest reception and was attended by the university’s leadership, including the Rector of Unsurya, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BPH), the Senate Chair, Vice Rectors, the Dean and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, lecturers, educational staff, and the students’ parents.
The oath-taking procession is part of a long-standing nursing tradition symbolizing the moral and ethical readiness of students before entering clinical practice in hospitals or other healthcare facilities. This sacred moment represents a dedication to service, integrity, and a commitment to uphold the noble values of the nursing profession.

A Meaningful Series of Events
The ceremony began with the first-year students entering the venue in an orderly and solemn procession, led by a second-year student who carried the Indonesian flag, the Unsurya flag, and the Faculty of Health Sciences flag.

After the event was officially opened by the master of ceremonies, all attendees sang the national anthem “Indonesia Raya” and the Unsurya March together.
The event continued with an opening dance performed by students of the Bachelor of Nursing program, which enlivened the atmosphere and highlighted local cultural wisdom.

An academic report was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, First Air Marshal (Ret.) I Dewa Ketut Kerta Widana, SKM., MKKK, emphasizing the importance of integrity, responsibility, and character development throughout the nursing education process.

Highlight of the Ceremony: The Oath-Taking
At 09:40 AM WIB, the formal and emotional oath-taking ceremony took place. The oath was recited by all first-year students, led directly by the Rector of Unsurya and witnessed by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences. The oath affirmed their commitment to uphold professional ethics, maintain patient confidentiality, and serve the community wholeheartedly.

The symbolic signing of the oath manuscript by a student representative marked the students’ official moral commitment to their professional responsibilities.
After the oath, the audience sang the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI) March, further reinforcing the students’ enthusiasm to become future members of this professional organization.

Recognition for Outstanding Students
The event also included the awarding of honors to the top three academically performing students, in recognition of their dedication and hard work during the initial phase of their education.


The awards were presented directly by the Rector and the Dean, followed by a heartwarming photo session.

A special song was performed by the student choir as a show of support and encouragement for their fellow students who had just taken their oath.
Speeches & Closing
In his speech, the Rector of Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma expressed his pride in the students who had demonstrated the moral and mental readiness to undergo clinical education. He also stressed the importance of professionalism, empathy, and communication skills in navigating the current dynamics of the healthcare world.

A heartfelt speech from a student parent representative conveyed gratitude and hope that their children would carry out their professional duties with full dedication.

The ceremony concluded with the singing of the Unsurya Hymn and the national song “Bagimu Negeri,” performed with great spirit by all attendees. A joint prayer was then offered, hoping for blessings and protection throughout the students’ future journey.

To close, students received personal congratulations from university leaders, faculty members, and their parents, creating an emotional and proud atmosphere. The entire event concluded with a group photo session involving students, Unsurya leadership, and the organizing committee.

A Commitment for the Future
Through this Oath-Taking Ceremony, the Faculty of Health Sciences at Unsurya aims to produce nursing professionals who are not only clinically competent but also uphold the values of humanity, integrity, and community service.
This event also served as a moment of reflection for the entire academic community to continue strengthening an educational system capable of producing professional, globally competitive nurses.
